The Second and Final Solar Eclipse of the Year Has Begun

According to information from the Nasreddin Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, the second and final solar eclipse of this year began at 19:34 Baku time and will end at 23:57. The maximum phase of the event will be recorded at 21:46. The eclipse will last approximately 5 hours in total, with the full coverage of the Sun's disk lasting about 7 minutes. The total solar eclipse will mainly be visible along a path crossing Iceland, northwestern Spain, Portugal, Greenland, and the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean. Partial eclipse visibility will extend over much of Europe, parts of North America, certain regions of the Pacific Ocean, and northwestern Africa. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to observe this eclipse from Azerbaijan. The last partial solar eclipse visible in the country occurred on October 25, 2022. The next partial eclipse observable from Azerbaijan will be on August 2, 2027. Although that event will be a total solar eclipse, Azerbaijan lies outside the path of totality, so only the partial phase will be visible.
