UAE Demands Iran Stop Attacks in the Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the targeting of a vessel belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry demanded that Iran immediately stop the attacks and unconditionally open the strait. The ministry described this action as a serious violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and equated it to maritime piracy. The UAE considers the use of the Strait of Hormuz by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a means of pressure against commercial shipping a dangerous step.
